Rootin' Tootin' Lootin' - loot 5 exceptional weapons

Ive complete act 1 with 2 characters i was wondering if theres and shortcuts like joing another persons game at chapter 4 and then doing some main missions to complete act 1?

and the looting 5 weapons, theyre orange weapons right, and they can only be looted via a corpse or a container?

and whilest im here i was trying the level 50 exploit where you drop a thug and keep breaking its arms but me being sam b i couldnt drop the thug so i failed at that.
