You don't need to hexedit anything. Simply copy all the files (except PARAM.SFO) from the save you want and paste into your own save. Copy this save onto a USB stick. Open XPloder and drag your save from USB -> PC. When prompted to copy or move - select copy.
Now simply drag the save back again from PC -> USB and overwrite. Done.

Ok so I have no idea whats up with the 80 save but I got it to work. After numerous times of starting new saves and doing other shit I got it to work after using Cooler's Stealth save and then copied everything over and it somehow worked.
