Post: Do you need CFW for Copyrighted saves? (ex. Saints Row III, Heavy Rain)
05-20-2012, 07:26 AM #1
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I'm using Xploder and i would like to use another user's save from Saints Row III and any other copyrighted protected games and make it my own, except how does it work? I don't understand the answers given in the threads of copyrighted saves.
Would you need CFW?

Help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks.

Yes you'd need CFW or Xploder.

All you have to do is download the save, then if you got saints row disk version, check the region code in the box, and compare to the one in the save folder. If it's different, change the folder's name to the one you have, and edit your .SFO where it says BLES/BLUS. Then just use it like you normally would with Xploder, and it should work Smile

Make sure the region is the same... if not get it changed.
Second... resigning a copy-protected save is NO different than any other.
Except instead of using your save..
Let's say Saints Row III

On the left side you have the save you want.
On the right side take ANY other game save from your PS3.
Let say MW3 (it can be any one)

On the right side, it reads "User Name (Online)"
Now just drag the Saints Row III save you want from the left, and over to the save from your PS3.

The magic is that Xploder will take the users system info from ANY save that is on your PS3, and resign it to the save you want.
So they don't have to be matching game saves to work.
You only need to make sure that you have a save from your PS3... again... any save will do.

Presto!
Take the Saints Row III and copy it into your PS3.

Of course... with copy protected saves, you cannot make a backup of your original save (unless you have PSN+) so once it is overwritten it is gone.

If you need the region changed. Post it here, and I can get it done fast

So, if it's protected you can't put it in your USB unless CFW?

I'm trying to "make it my save" but i can't because i cannot transfer my save over to the USB.

You don't need to use your own "Saints Row III" save to resign a Saints Row III save that you want. You can use any save from your PS3 from your profile.....

It is exactly the same as resigning any save the only difference is that instead of having the same game on both sides of the Xploder you will use a different save of yours such as a "Borderlands" save from your PS3 and then you drag the Saint's Row III save that you want over to the "Borderlands" save and it will make a new save for "Saint's Row III that is signed for your PS3.
