The gamesave is very easy to hack when decrypted with bruteforce... Just be aware there is a
checksum that prevents you from adding bytes to the code!
Starbits
Search for "starbits" and you get a string like this:
29875.198745
Green is your actual amount of starbits, the .indicates the start of the added trailer data. To gain starbits you can just change the green value to 9's... But why stop there? Just move the dot to the right and you just increased your starbits by a magnitude of 10 XD. For example the above shown string could be modified like this:
99999999.745
You just gave yourself 100 million starbits (2 million starbits are actually for sale on the PSN store for €3,59 XD
Go on and get that Buy the Shop trophy.
Tolkienesque trophy
Search for "library" and change all the values that are zero in this category to one, except for the first one, change that one to all zero's (this is the most common enemy). Coincedentally, when anything other then the first value is higher, just leave it as is. Play one game and the trophy pops.
Ship upgrades
Very important Ship upgrades with a value over 100 are not supported by patch 1.02, if you want this, redownload the game and decline the patch. Also note that the hacked upgrades only go active on your seccond play session
Now this is where the fun starts XD... Search for the string "upgrades", you'll find 12 values in the order as the uprades appear in the gamestore. Remember, you can not add digits due to the checksum. So when a value only is 2 digits long, you can only maximize that to 99, but since you have already got one million starbits, let the game change these values to 100, by upgrading everything in the game and copy back your save. Since the checksum now accounts for three digits, you are free to change your 100% shield to a 999% shield XD, just fumble a bit around with the numbers...
When the first four values are changed to high number like 750 or 999, in game just fire one time and the side arms shoot automatically, even when in drill mode! I have let the game running, went to do something else, five minutes later I was still alive... the game plays for you. Note that you can still die instantly from colliding with certain parts of bosses and also when your ship gets frozen your drill will be deactivated, making you prone to collide with an asteroid or solid planet
Also don't set the shipspeed value to high or your controls become inverted.
You can also change the values back to 000 or even -99 and lower the game difficulty, which is very important to the King of the Skies trophy. I unlocked it with 999 radio shield and 999 "laser power" 50 shipspeed and the rest changed to -99 (to lower difficulty and thus spawn more bosses!)
Hacked saves are able to sync to the cloud for access on vita to unlock trophies, but since this requires patching, your upgrades will be maxed at 100%
Trophies
The following trophies are instance based and thus not unlockable by resigning a 100% gamesave (I've tested this)
Home Potato - Spend 20 seconds in the heart of an asteroid
Lucky number Seven - Smash through difficulty level 7 (though this should be easy with a maxed out ship)
Blackholed - Peacefully survive a Black Hole! (should be easy to get, with maxed ship, because of autofireing which is not seen as active fireing!)
King of the Skies Classic Mode - Defeat all four bosses in one round! (highly asked for, but not sadly not obtainbale via saves. You have to do this your self. One word of advice, do not max out everything on your ship because the gamedifficulty becomes higher and thus it takes bosses longer to spawn. But 999 shield is of great help!
Happy Hacking!
