I got my platinum with this saveset last year, playing the game that was free for PS+ subscribers. It worked. Period.
Edit: I just used the saves with an alternate account. The game is on version 2.0. It works. It's important that you use the options file that comes with the save set.

There is no step by step. Resign the saves with Bruteforce Save Data, copy them to your system and play. They'll only work with the European download version.
