Post: Help getting a game out of the PS3
08-27-2010, 01:40 AM #1
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); So when my PS3 hit the YLOD, I had Modern Warfare 2 in the system, and now it won't stay on long enough for the game to eject (even when I start it up by hitting the eject button.) If anyony is able to give me a way to get the game out of the system so I can play it when I buy my new PS3, it would be much appreciated. +rep to the guy that can give me an easy method that works.

Thanks!

Most disk drives have an emergency eject button, you'd have to get direct access to the disk drive (open the PS3) and locate the emergency eject. It's usually within a small hole on the front. You need to use a paperclip (or something that you can bend into a long, stiff tool that is small enough to fit in the hole) and just push it in until you feel something give, and it should spit your disk out.

This is assuming the PS3 disk drive has an emergency eject function though.

Umm Don't try and take the ps3 apart by yourself, Go to a hardware repair place or some other repair place. Or ship it to sony and they'll take it out.

I was under the impression that if you turn the power off on the back and then back on while holding the eject button that it should eject the game. Hope it works for you.

Smash it up and retrive the disk the ps3 is already broken

On a serious note...

If you have a slim there's a small hole on the underside of the PS3 near the BD-ROM drive that you can use a phillips screw driver to manually eject a stuck disc.

You can check on Youtube on ways to take apart your PS3 and do the tip someone gave above.

Or send it in to be fixed and just tell them you have a disk in there.

lol smash it up...well don't smash it up you can still savage some parts. lol i'm always trying to make use of everything even if it's "Broken" so don't just destroy it yet aite.

Or you can try to attempt to fix this urself, but that is a risk not to many will risk. i would on the other hand, i mean it's YLOD and there ain't no reason to send it to Sony, unless you have a warranty with them, and like most of us, we don't, well let me correct that, most of us that own a the fat PS3 won't unless you bought it from GS with a warranty. but yeah i don't have any and if mines goes YLOD i'm fixing it regardless. ain't scared to open her up and see what's inside of her. but yeah save that as a last resort though lolz. but hopefully you can get MW2 out without any trouble. but i don't see any hole to poke a paperclip in to manual eject the game, sorry mate. guess ur gonna have to open her up, it's not to hard, just like White_Bolt said, just youtube it and pay attention to what they do.

better yet i think there is a link on NGU that show you how to repair the YLOD...ahh here it is. hopefully this helps out bro. ohh instead of a heat gun u can try a hair dryer instead, should work the same

You must login or register to view this content.

take that back the dryer isn't as strong enough as a heat gun, so heat gun is what you need. sorry./facepalm
