so what happens is I start up my ps3 everything is fine I put in a disk the ps3 reads the disk so it will say Modern Warfare 2

but when I click it to go play it, it loads up and then its just to a Black Screen and it just stays like that

but there is 1 game that is different when I put in Resistance Fall Of Man it loads up perfect but say I want to quit the game to go back to XMB it goes to Black Screen after I click Quit Game

is there anything that you guys could suggest that will solve this problem

is it the Blue Ray Player? IM not sure because it reads the disk but just doesn't start

try re-installing f/w on your ps3 ;s

it can't be the firmware because i had this problem on 3.15 and i just updated it to 3.41 to hack

and also when i do jailbreak my ps3 and run a game from my external hard drive it happens as well i get a black screen

Have you every tryed reseting your HDD?
Also so I could have more information to fixing your promblem, have you ever had any system ban's?

how do you reset ur HDD?

i was once suspended for 30 Days because of playstation Home but no system Bans

I had a similar problems i got tired of looking for solutions so i got a new bluray player on ebay installed it and boom perfection achieved :black:

Or the black screen thing that happens when you put in a wrong file or something.

Try to reset your ps3, if your willing to lose all your offline game saves, like story mode etc. ect.

When I load up a game it will go to a black screen for about 5 to 10 seconds because it is trying to read the disc. When I first had my ps3 it would load it up right away without the black screen. So I think it has to do with a failing blu ray lens.
