Ya, this happens to me. I have a small, old SD tv in the corner of our living room, and I big 1080i flatscreen in the main area of the living room. It's a family ps3 so we have to share it, and the SD tv is when someone is on the big tv (retarded I know).
Anyways, we have to switch the ps3 from HDMI to RGB, and what I have to do is turn on the ps3 BUT keep holding the power button WHILE ALSO holding the cord from the RGB cables in the ps3. Just to make sure that the plug is in there good. IDK why but it works for me.
