I think you're wrong mate. I did it on a Nat 2 and it worked fine. Also the prestige work in both xbox and ps3..
finally, to those people who have trouble with the prestige glitch try to wait about 10 seconds before turning the ps3 ON.
here are my steps.
1.enter prestige.
2. Count for 2 seconds
3.remove the Ethernet cable.
4.turn the ps3 off. ( the front bottom)
5. connect the Ethernet cable back.
6.Wait 10 seconds to turn the ps3 on again.
7. Start the game.

ok i just did it from 0 to 9th...here is what i did.
1. enter prestige
2. pull out cable 2 seconds after
3. turn off from front (touch screen part)
4. Once light is red on the front, flip back switch off
5. No need to wait, put cable back in and flip the back switch.
6. Turn on from either touch screen or controller...it doesn't matter.
7. Load the game up and it should work.
It didn't work on my first account and i think i know the reasons why...
1. my email was the same as my account on callofduty.com
2. my connection started off wireless and then i went wired. (start off account wired and it should work)
please rep+

Yea. that's exactly how to do it. I forgot the turning the ps3 off part..

Still works at of 4/22/09. My friend gave me his account and I did it on MY ps3. Also I did mine which was a 2nd prestige. They all worked with no hassle.
