mates ps3 lasted till about august last year. got a mate to fix ylod bout 4 times now and just ylod around christmas time lol still hasnt fixed it yet

my 40 gb fat got ylod two days after christmas 09. i fixed it jan. 13th via heatgun method. it lasted for about 3 weeks. i figured out the longer you heat the plates the longer it lasts. and the 2nd time i heated both plates and let them cool off twice before putting back together (7 minutes each plate) and it lasted from feb-april...in april i heated it 3 times and cooled it 3 times..then a friend came by and did it twice for good luck lol and its worked better than it did before it broke the first time. and its still working right now for your information i'm a regular user so it was on 4 days out of the week at least 3 hours..i did give in and purchase a 160 gb for christmas =p haven't used it yet tho

p.s i got a $10 heat gun from Lowe's and i use artic silver 5 thermal glue everytime also (works like a charm)
