I've decided to share with people on NGU who are having difficulty playing GTA 4 Online with Modifications.

Numerous Threads are scattered about getting GTA IV online which are quite hazy, and various Threads requesting for help.

So here is a simple Tutorial which I hope will be of help to many of you guys having trouble.

You must login or register to view this content.

- PS3 with You must login or register to view this content. (3.55/3.41)
- Fresh Backup of GTA IV (BLES00229 or BLUS30127)

Copy the Modified PARAM.SFO and Comgenie's File Manager.pkg to the root of either a USB Stick or USB HDD.

Connect your USB Stick/HDD to your PS3.

Install Comgenie's File Manager and Run it.

You must login or register to view this content.
You'll be greeted with a nice Blue screen... now press Select to turn it Red and you're now in Advanced Mode.

Now the Layout is pretty simple:

Browse and select a file on the Left and then browse for the destination folder on the Right, then Press O from the Left side to copy it over to where you chose on the Right side.

You get meh? You must login or register to view this content.

You must login or register to view this content.
On the Left side, navigate to either 'dev_usb000' or 'dev_usb001'.

Press X

You should see the PARAM.SFO you downloaded earlier in the list of files.

You must login or register to view this content.
Press Right to switch to the other side of the File Manager.

'EU' owners navigate to: 'dev_hdd0/GAMES/BLES00229/PS3_GAME/'

'US' owners navigate to: 'dev_hdd0/GAMES/BLUS30127/PS3_GAME/

Now press Left to go back to the Left side again.

Hover over the PARAM.SFO.

Press O on PARAM.SFO and press Start to confirm, your new PARAM.SFO has now replaced the original.

Done. Quit the File Manager.

You must login or register to view this content.
Once back on the XMB, go to your favourite Backup Manager (I highly recommend MultiMan 1.15.02)

Run GTA IV and if you did everything correctly, you will have no prompt to update to 1.06.

Go to your in-game Phone and select Multiplayer... Success!

(Note: As this is a bypass hack, you can only play online with other bypassed players, but they're increasing so it will get populated quickly even on modded online games!)

I hope this has been of help!
