Numerous Threads are scattered about getting GTA IV online which are quite hazy, and various Threads requesting for help.

So here is a simple Tutorial which I hope will be of help to many of you guys having trouble.

Once back on the XMB, go to your favourite Backup Manager (I highly recommend MultiMan 1.15.02)

Run GTA IV and if you did everything correctly, you will have no prompt to update to 1.06.

Go to your in-game Phone and select Multiplayer... Success!

(Note: As this is a bypass hack, you can only play online with other bypassed players, but they're increasing so it will get populated quickly even on modded online games!)

That's the downside, it's only between bypassed player, but the more people who learn how to do this, then the more who will be online with other hacks.

And it's a whoooole lot more fun than standard online. :carling:

This applies to the car editing, but you can add objects around the map. I have "way to happiness" on my PS3 now. Was just wondering if anybody would make a GTA4 Stunt Land or something like that for the ps3. Just ramps all over the map...
NEEEEEDs to be done, would do myself but i'm just not having any luck.

And waste time re-compiling .ISO's and wasting Discs?

I replaced common.rpf and ps3.rpf, etc but now my gta 4 won't boot. Tried deleting 1.06 still won't work. I fixed permissions, tried select+x, tried booting from XMB after loading it, and started it straight from multiman. Black screen each time. I'm just trying to SP mods btw.

Have you replaced the existing PARAM.SFO in 'dev_hdd0/GAMES/BLES00229/PS3_GAME/'?

Also try deleting any existing Game Data for GTA IV in the Game Data Utility and try again.

Oh! You've got the backup saved on your External HDD?

That'll explain it lol, you have to replace the PARAM.SFO in 'dev_usb000/GAMES/BLES00229/'

Sorry I thought you had it backed up to your Internal PS3 HDD. Happy
