The scheduled launch is unsure at this time due to Sony seeing if they can win the battle in the courts against the root of all the PS3 hacks – George Hotz.
Sony is essentially trying to get rid of all the old SKUs with these price drops – and even their own price drop incoming possibly – so it makes way for their new hack-proof model.

Personally if i was Sony i would not have said it was Hack proof!
Surely that's just an invitation that encourages a wider audience of Hackers
Looks like they going to try and flush out the old systems.
Also KIllzone 3 leaked online before release date (depending on country), oh sh1t Guerilla must be pi55ed :O
Couldn't see it posted, searched hack proof and new ps3 but if if is Delete Thread.

Maybe this is SONY's way of saying, heyy if you have been banned but buy this new HACK PROOF unit we will unban you or w/e there going to call it. Either way 300GB at that price is not a bad deal so ehhhhh :hitman:

Obviously parents for their kids for Birthday or Christmas presents, consoles that are bricked or band, Ylod failures, etc etc.
If your system failed and it was still under warranty and they sent you one of these new consoles what do you do, if that's all that's available on the market?
If they flood the market with these at a drop down price as advertised, they going to sell like hot cakes
Also not everyone is into the JB PS3 scene or even know about it? a large majority like to play legit.

I agree with everything you have just said. As this is a huge Hacking community site, but the majority of PS3 owners don't know what hacking is. They never heard of it before(shocked right).
