It happend to me one time only Cool Man (aka Tustin), usually if green light is flashing means something is not operating correctly inside the unit, so i would just unplug everything let it cool of for couple hours before you turn it back on.

just keep the power button pressed until it turns off. Then unplug it from the back and let it rest from 10 to 15 mins and that's it.
It happens to me all time... don't know why :(

The PS3 is a smartly created gaming machine. If your PS3 won't turn on anymore and it keeps blinking the red light, then you can still save your PS3. You need to check and be sure that when you power on your PS3, the green light comes on, then there is a beep, then the light immediately goes from green to yellow to red and continues to blink. If that is the case, you have acquired the YLOD. If not, then there is something else
if you ps3 is under warranty then sony will fix it for free but if it's no more under warranty then sony will charge you $150 if not and you want to repair it on your own then read this mannual.
Hope this helps

From what I've understood, this basically means something in the system is having a bit of trouble shutting down. This happens to me alot when I play for long periods of time. I usually unplug the system from the wall, and let it rest for a while before plugging it back in and turning it on. Also, check the sides/underneath of the PS3 System for dust caught it the ventilation area. Blowing/cleaning this out helps the system ventilate correctly and have less of a chance of overheating.
