Bad news for all of you who visited Geohot.com between January '09
and now. Sony now has the right to acquire the information of all
users who visited his site in that time frame. His webhost, BlueHost,
has no choice but to hand it over, legally.
The approved subpoena...

requires the company to turn over "documents reproducing all server logs, IP address logs, account information, account access records and application or registration forms" tied to Hotz's hosting. The Bluehost subpoena also demands "any other identifying information corresponding to persons or computers who have accessed or downloaded files hosted using your service and associated" with the You must login or register to view this content. website, including but not limited to the "geohot.com/jailbreak.zip file."
Sony is justifying this by saying that the acquisition of this information is necessary to prove that he actually distributed the PlayStation 3 hack, and also choosing a city venue with the least prejudiced jury. They also received a subpoena for his Blogger, YouTube account, the information of who viewed, or commented on, the video, anda final subpoena for his twitter.

Maybe we will all be served papers in the mail next, I'm looking forward to the next thing. All kidding aside that Sony will not doing anything if you simply just visited the site. They will only seek action for those who uploaded anything.
Not sure if this follows under "You can do what you want with what you buy law" (Great law right) lol. :dingding: Sony I love ya more than anything, but you sure been a dick last few months.
Really in the end, Sony will go to any measure to protect their investments, Yes I know it sounds pretty shitty at the same time.
