Post: KaKaRotoks about unhackable ps3

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Kakarotoks, the first hacker to have released a custom firmware, today announced it describes the three stages that Sony has adorned the hack for the PS3, and announced that he throws in the towel.

The hacker Kakarotoks became world famous by being the first to offer a custom firmware to play pirated games on PlayStation 3, following the work of the equally famous GeoHotz who had managed to decrypt the secure keys used to run the code (signed or not).

Yet Kakarotoks admits that Sony has found a solution to hack the PS3 unexpected deemed inviolable, and speaks of "heroic rescue" by the firm in Tokyo.

According to him, Sony has proceeded in three steps to rectify the situation:
- Step 1: Securing the firmware update 3.56
- Step 2: Securing the decryption of data when installing a firmware update in the 3.60
- Step 3: Securing the PSN with a change of protocol PSN since the launch of version 3.6x

To those who thought that Sony could address this flaw, since it was due to a hardware problem, Kakarotoks states: "a hardware fault can often be solved in software."

Sony had removed the loaders used by hackers, and have found a way to bypass metldr necessary to hack the console.

More surprising still, Kakarotoks said he will not try to break the 3.60 firmware, and will stay on his custom firmware 3.55: "The 3.55 was very good, and those who love the homebrew as I remain in this version. What we I should have done so far, those who do it should not update their console ... Everyone will find his account. "

He ended by warning the community of hackers do not need to try to convince him to resume his work of undermining: "Oh, and before you flooder me .... It will not be me! Indeed , does not interest me more than that to break the PS3, I'm happy with what we've done. I do not work above! ".

Finally, Sony has done: the manufacturer has found a way to security issues on the PS3. The games that come out in April will all require the installation of firmware 3.60, putting an end to an issue that stirred the Playstation community for 6 months. Good news.

how do I know ... I tried installing black ops normally on my 3.41 PS3. There was a big thing trying to get black ops to work on 3.41, people were having trouble even with a decrypted eboot. And my friend bought a new 160gb slim with the killzone 3 package, and the system came on firmware 3.41, he couldn't install killzone until he updated.

Sony seems to think EVERYONE has the internet who buys their ps3 I guess.

I never disagreed, I just stated that certain games have firmware on them, and not having internet does NOT mean you can not play the newest games out, because firmware maybe installed on them.

This is depressing news. Maybe he'll get bored one day, and try to mess with another firmware. I mean after all...Sony likes to provide a new firmware every ****ing 30 days now.

What a load of bollocks. The only reason he stopped is because he is afraid of sony

Geohot was always superiour and always will be. KaKaRoToS basically copied his work and just put his name on it. His firmware was always obselete and he never updated it. Fag

EVERYONE who updated from 3.55 to a higher FW is STUPID and you dont deserve a CFW.

NOBODY is going to start over from scratch to make a CFW for the idiots who updated.
It makes much more sense to continue working on 3.55 as we already have everything we need to continue coding and releasing things for it.

And like EVERYONE has stated: These new "3.56 required games" are easily fixed with some file modding/replacing. So **** IT 3.55 4 life <3.

For those who updated? Sell your ps3 and get a NEW console on FW lower than 3.56. BUT you better do this QUICK as soon there will be no more consoles in stores with lower FW's installed.

You mean, "Its funny how games that are being released at the moment require 3.56"

Lol not 3.42 :P

:bro:

Both, after the dongle jailbreak, I'm sure that Sony started releasing games that required 3.42 to play, then the 3.55 hack and then they started to release gaems that require 3.60 and yet people on 3.41 can still play any game lol.

To all the nooks who say "nothing is unhackable" I ask you, do you know one thing about how a cfw is made? If so you would know that it's not going to happen. I bet most nooks don't even know about the ecdsa exploit which got us here in the first place, and how it's got patched. Give up, it's you fault that you updated blindly, even when there was dns bypass you still updated before that got patched, and so look where you impatience got you...
