Third place is the new second, it seems. Data firm Strategy Analytics is reporting that, as of the end of 2010, PlayStation 3′s total active user base is 43.4 million units worldwide, whereas Xbox 360′s universal numbers amount to 42.9 million. Nintendo Wii is still on top, with 75.5 million active units across the globe.
“While the Kinect peripheral has given a boost to Microsoft’s Xbox 360 strategy, the console’s performance outside of the U.S. continues to disappoint,” says Strategy Analytics’ Digital Consumer Practice analyst Jia Wu.
“Global demand for Sony’s PS3 has exceeded that of the Xbox 360 in each of the past two years, and we expect that to continue over the coming years.”
Wu recommends Microsoft “continue[s] to innovate around its [Kinect] motion sensor technology, which will become increasingly relevant in the smart home era.”
The report closes predicting Xbox 360 will sell another 13.7 million by the end of 2011, while PlayStation 3 will sell a further 15.7 million. Wii, on the other hand, will continue to decline.

Sorry but i cant list the amount of exclusives xbox has seriously, but really Xbox is the better console in the end of the day and you know it.
Fair enough ps3 has more Technical advantages, but xbox keeps up with it, if you havnt noticed.
And really Xbox has had what 2 hacks and thats DVD firmware modding and JTAG.

Yeah, funny thing is it took less than a year for them to hack Xbox. It took PS3 over 4 years to be hacked with the release of CFW. I'm sure you can argue about it all you want and you have the right too as well.
The only thing I see Xbox in a slight edge that it has on PS3 is "Red Ring Of Death" Also know as RROD. Say what you want about my opinion but I own both consoles. I'm on my 4th Xbox which I bought last year when they released the Slim. The first 3 all had the RROD and it's "Bullshit" you put your money in a system you trust too be working.
On the other hand with Sony and the PS3 I've had the same PS3 since '07 and have not had a problem. Yes I had Xbox way before PS3 and when you compare them side by side the Xbox was beast in the early years of just being release, while PS3 was struggling at the gate when launching due to poor marketing and sorts. People called it overpricing sure, but at the end of the day the Blu-ray inside the system cost alone at that time (2006) over $200.00 retail, some places $299.00.
Since than the last few years PS3 been dominating, with more exclusives and better quality games in the last 2 years on PS3 compared to Xbox. You can argue as well if you want about what I got to say on the matter.
At the end of the day, I like both consoles and both have great quality to them. It's really all about how you feel that really counts. On the other hand I think PS3 has the edge when comparing exclusives though.
This is my last message on this topic as I've expressed my opinion, and thanks for quoting me ZoneHD.

You actually paying XBL fees for fixing other gamer RROD console and make a recover loss after microsoft lose alot of profit due to 57% XBOX360 console RROD abd other problems. Microsoft knew they were facing big problem with faulty XBOX360 consoles before they were released.
Like i said, that the another reason why Microsoft charge for XBL fees and without gamers knowing why.
