This is how my friend who is doing a computer programming course
explained it to me.

See the problem is Code when you use C.F.W it is running on their
Servers when you are online,with their own O.F.W running as well.

So they can see an change in the way their O.F.W is running what
they do next is a system run on the change in the flow of the code.

So when they find what the annomally [sorry for the spelling anyway] is they trace the source of it.

Then they can trace you ip address, your email and any of the information that is own your ps3 e.g mac address name so on....

But to ban your console they have to wait until you turn it
off because they can not get it on your HDD when it is active
reason being is the security on it prevents this happening.

So when you turn it off they will send the ban code simply put
to your HDD.

The next day when you sign in it is activated and they fu*k you for you using something that does not make them money.

All big corporations do this but it is always going to happen and they
do not care about 1 user on their network .

Because simply S.O.N.Y have millions of customers buying their
produce every day.

So i hope this helped and has concluded the question of why and how this has happened to me .

On the why, actually I suspect its more about economics. They have service agreements with the publishers to ensure their console stays more or less hackproof, and do this by funnel online traffic via the PSN service. This ensure they keep their end of the bargain up, and the publishers do not have to be concerned about cheat checking within their code, since its outsourced to $ony.

However, since people with Egos bragged about it on live TV, this service agreement probably have a penalty clause, which mean the crab needs to cough up to the publishers, so its hurting their pockets. In my view if this stayed low key, mr geo didnt draw attention to it, he never would have been dragged to court.

On the CFW giveaway, its your history log that gives you away mostly. Banning (from what i understand from an insider) is manual, and not automatic. The automatic check only checked our earlier logs which wasnt wiped when the first CFW came out, and thats why most received warnings. Multiman for one do some selective cleaning of its own when it exits from what i understand. Also, the IP address means nothing, since it can by dynamic, the ban is on your console ID.

they dont ban by ip, they ban by the ps3's serial (wich is unique) and wheres your source??

Okay first of all i said they get your mac address they trace your
ip address not ban it they ban the mac address.

They mostly hate it because of running "Back up managers" and pirating games, which is stupid as Geohot's didnt support pirating you needed a seperrate Lv2 patcher.

Sony doesn't like it because it's not what they want on thier ps3 and for a number of reasons but mostly control ... they ban instant they dont have to wait for you to turn off your system if you have ever made a simple blog you would understand that you can deny service to any IP or MAC address on your server/blog or w/e and you can ban while they are away ... so if sony "can't" ban you while you are online i'm sure they can kick you just like i got kicked in order to accecpt the new user agreement ... so your "friend" is legally retarded

Okay well just a few days ago i had a huge acc give away
because i got banned for having C.F.W on my ps3 i was
playing b.o all night .

The next day i tried to sign in but the famous ban code came
u[ onto the screen 200A227 so why did they not ban me that
night .

And my friend is actually Doing A COMPUTER PROGRAMMING
COURSE in college so i think he would actually know.
