Post: PS3 Connection issues, I cant be the only one with this problem????
04-05-2011, 05:10 AM #1
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I will give 6 Million vbuks to the person who can get my ps3 to work properly with my router!!!

Ok this is my problem

I can play my ps3 just fine when its wired directly to my modem, no lag, no disconections and I can host lobbies in any game I own.

Now with my router connected I get major issues like random disconnects, I can not host for the life of me ect.....

I have nat type 2 and an open nat in black ops and mw2 with and without the router connected

I have tried a static ip and putting the router on the dmz aswell as manually opening every possible port.

I have also tried multiple dns settings with no avail

I have disabled the routers firewall

What can I do, this is pissing me off soooo much and the other people in my house get pretty pissed to when they cant use the net because I want to play black ops lol.

Please is there someone who can fix this?

To add some more info my router is a Belkin F5D8236-4 v3

Well this happens to me also but I have a differnet Router. Mine usually gets fixed when I reset my router.

Well I did some research on the router you are currently using and found somebody with a similar issue with, dissconects, and hardcore LAG.

This answer was given by Tech support at a Belkin Site Smile

take an ethernet cable and connect one end to any of the grey coloured(wired) ports of the router and the other end to computer.
then open IE and type 192.168.2.1 in the address bar.
you ll be able to view the router setup page.
now on the left side of the page you ll be able to find an option called "firewall".
click on it....
it ll prompt for a password....
leave it blank and click submit.....
Go ahead and disable the firewall....
now click on apply changes and the router ll reboot...

Well after more research I have found that this issue is really often in Belkin routers.

If you really want to change router out you should try to return yours and buy a Dlink router, there very good and have like no problems Smile

Here is a link to their page :

An amazing gaming router, and one for distributing great connection is the DIR-655 Xtreme N Gigabit Router

I'm not sure exactly what your saying but without the router hooked up I can get a great connection to the psn, I can host games no problem and connect with friends like I should be able too.

I was playing last night with the router disconnected and it was great.

I dont think it has anything to do with the psn.

Yes I get a connection when I am going through my router. I can play games and have been using the ps3 with the router connected for years now. I am not able to host any game's, have a hard time connecting with friends and I get disconnected from games easily.

When I do the ps3 speed test I get the same results with or without the router, I also get an open nat with the router connected as well as with it disconnected.

I have disabled the firewall, put the ps3 on the dmz and forwarded every port possible (all at the same time and seperatly).

These dont seem to help at all

I have read about others having connection issues too but its ALWAYS because they have nat 3 or a strict or moderate nat.

I have a nat 2 and open nat with the router connected

I have nat 1 and open nat with no router connected.

I can not find any info in the entire internets about someone having connection issues with an open nat.

Well if you have said you opened ports than there is a point that these are useless and I agree. One thing that I think you should consider is going to buy another router. I did lots of research for you and found that Belkin routers are consistent with these problems well if I were you I would look at Dlink :y:

Well thats not what I was hoping to hear to say the least. This router was a great price and works great for everything else or so it seems.

So maybe I should go buy another router and see if that fix's the problem.
