Post: PS3 Connection issues, I cant be the only one with this problem????

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I will give 6 Million vbuks to the person who can get my ps3 to work properly with my router!!!

Ok this is my problem

I can play my ps3 just fine when its wired directly to my modem, no lag, no disconections and I can host lobbies in any game I own.

Now with my router connected I get major issues like random disconnects, I can not host for the life of me ect.....

I have nat type 2 and an open nat in black ops and mw2 with and without the router connected

I have tried a static ip and putting the router on the dmz aswell as manually opening every possible port.

I have also tried multiple dns settings with no avail

I have disabled the routers firewall

What can I do, this is pissing me off soooo much and the other people in my house get pretty pissed to when they cant use the net because I want to play black ops lol.

Please is there someone who can fix this?

To add some more info my router is a Belkin F5D8236-4 v3

Now I have hooked up the DIR-655 and got nat type strict :(

I put it in the dmz, disabled spi, disabled upnp and turned endpoint filtering to independant and still its strict

What should I do now?

um what i did that might sort of help is do a custom set up
go to internet settings and jot down the primary ip , the 255.255.255.0 thing and the other ip address, i changed my primary ip by changing the last digit for example (192.168.1.102 ~> 192.168.1.10) and made the primary dns 4.2.2.1 and secondary dns 4.2.2.2 and left the 255.255 same and the other ip address same... hope this helps

I will try this tomorrow, my head hurts way too much tonight to dick around with this anymore.

I acually had an open nat at one point when I disabled ping blocking but as soon as I switched to my lag switch cable so I could get host in black ops it went to moderate and I had some people connecting to me. Unfortunatly when I switched another setting it went strict again.

I took that cable out, changed the setting back so it was the same as when I got open nat and put the normal cable back in but I still continued to get strict for the rest of the night.

WTF is wrong with this?

Can’t trickshot me!
Well you say "everyone" in your house complains cause they want to use the net but your on the ps3. how often is your computer used? if there are a lot of people in your house i guess they would be on it taking turns.. They can lag you while your on your game because it's a shared connection and when they connect to a page it has to download the contents of the page to load it. If a lot of images or videos are loaded up it will cause A LOT of lag. If they play runescape it will definately lag even more.

i used to play on my modem with no problems as well, but when i got a router my brothers and sisters would be on the computer all day long and i would lag a lot because of the websites they go on..

i dont know if there is a fix for you not lagging while people are on your internet.

and if you randomly get signed out it & cant log in for about 10-30minutes, unplug your router, and modem or what ever and unplug the eithernet from the system, for about 5 seconds. then plug it all back up. its either your router is refreshing or something im not techy but it happens to me, or your ISP is having problems.

I have reset my router multiple times with no change.

And no it has nothing to do with others using the net at the same time, I have tried all these suggestions when everyone else was sleeping. I even changed the password when I was trying these suggestions to ensure there where no torrent ect. programs open that would auto connect.

I have taken the d-link back for a refund since it helped nothing so I am back on my belkin, I havent been using the ps3 much lately but if anyone comes up with a way to fix this my original offer still stands!!!
