Don't you think sony is scheduling this so called maintenance in order to find those whom are doing this and somehow preventing and/or banning them from access? This wouldn't be the first time they did something like this. And yes, there is no proof on this, it is just a theory. What are your thoughts on this?

Edit: Think about it, sony shuts down the servers, and refuses to speak about it. They say it is going to be down all day in order to do what? STOP REBUG USERS! It is not coincidental sony servers just magically shut down. It is most likely they are building on their security, finding a way to stop the rebug users. Maybe or maybe not they are banning/finding the rebug users, but I'm sure they are patching the exploit right now.

They can allready see who is not using a dedicated PSN server, there would be no need to shut down PSN. Ima go with its a 3rd party attack.. But i do think its just the beginging, he/she will give them control back but this was one hell of a introduction too whats gonna happen

No, ps3 is down because they don't charge you to play online and they currently don't have the money to keep their servers running.

i think its security based, they laughed at anon in their official statement, but i think anon got sony scared, theya rent gonna take any chances, after what happened with geohot, and all teh 12 year olds hacking games, ps3 is ****ed, its all about damage control from now until ps4 release

They can see, but its not like they can distinctly find people that easily. And they have a program now allowing people who are banned to play on regular servers, so I'm pretty sure sony is using this "maintenance" to find people, as most of them are still playing and whatever. And accounts got hacked a lot using that rebug shit too, which is a greater reason why they took psn down for the time reason, in order to stop the whole fiasco. Like I said sony did this before with the 3.55 CFW, except not so abruptly.
