Everyone thinks they are doing this on purpose, or something along those lines. Let me tell you, that is not true. They could turn PSN back on, but there would be consequences. Here is a statement made by them:

The reason PSN is not up, is because the servers were breached. Whoever breached it, would have access to accounts and CC info. They had to shut down the servers, to prevent it being leaked. Right now, they are working on finding the breach, and fixing it so people don't lose info.

That is all, stop hating, it will be on when they re secure the servers from hackers.

I don't think PSN got hacked, this seems like a great ploy to use by Sony, to avoid getting in trouble. I'm quite certain rebug alt. psn is what's getting fixed here, not the problems from some unknown group (anonymous admitted they were not to blame).

Some guy said " Sony is stupid, they don't have the brains to fix this" Then I said that they do have the brains, it's just that it doesn't take like 5 minutes to fix. What people don't understand is that it takes time.

Who knows, but based on what we do know, my speculation is correct.
