Anyway, i watched a video on youtube (no i didnt search for it purposely) and he said read something about why PSN was down and how it was pretty believable, so i searched it and read a little article and it does make sense.

Basically, a CFW was made and it could make a normal PS3 into a debug unit used by Sony developers, and by having that they could enter any credit card information and download free stuff from PSN, because Sony doesnt check the authenticity of the credit cards because they assume there developers wont steal content.

I had a PS3 up until CFW first came out, then I thought I'd trade it before a massive ban-wave came through. I don't claim either as my favorite, I was raised on PC games :\
