and so i downloaded 3.60 update, and put in my pendrive like this
Pendrive>PS3>UPDATE>PS3UPDAT.PUP

and then i press START + SELECT

it checks and returns this:
"No applicable update data was found.
Connect storage media that contains update data of version 3.60 or later, and then press the START and SELECT buttons at the same time."
I've already tryed changing ports, etc.

What i did was:
remove my 250gb HDD
put my 320gb HDD
turn on ps3
and those screen apeared
put firmware in pendrive
and error hapens.


I need soo much help, cuz if my mother discover i ****ed up my ps3, im screwed :S

OBS: original was ps3 slim 250gb

UPDATE: IT WAS PENDRIVE FAULT. i puted the same files on another pendrive and worked. thanks for everyone helping!

Put it in Recovery Mode.
Look around for tutorials how to do it.

Stupid question, but have you tried to update normally? Through USB. I'm not really sure what your problem is :lol:

yup, i downloaded ofw 3.60, and put in the pendrive and it says no applicable update data was found.
btw i dont have the system running since i removed HDD ;p

i mean, i have to re-install the system again since i removed original hdd.
btw, recovery mode is the first beep + another one or first beep + 2 other beeps?
bcuz 1 beep and another is same screen

On the USB make Sure It looks like this : PS3> UPDATE> PS3UPDAT.PUP

    Off, hold power until second beep/turns off again.

Hold, one beep, double beep, let go - recovery.

try pendrive before turning on ps3, make sure its fully off

myne was doing 1 beep + another 1 beep and 1 hour later another beep. now i entered recovery.. what shall i do? e_e
