I think the launch models last longer thn the newer slims do, mine is a CHECHC03, plays ps2 n 1 games, must be coming onto 4 years now myself!, but as ive seen you can still fix them, and i have a specialist shop near me called consoleworks, im pretty sure if it goes wrong it can still be fixed again, or someone on here will point me in the right direction

Happened to me after 4 years, now i fixed mine along with fixing my mistake of dislodging a disc from the bluray drive via knife :evil:
Mine's now running beautifully with 3.55 CFW installed, playing Super Mario Bros on it as we speak
