Hey guys, I am panicing because my main ps3 (one of 3) just got the yellow light of death today. It came out of no where and unfortunately this is my ps3 that I have all of my good game saves and game data on and I am worried that I am I going to lose all of that. It has taken me about 3 years to complete all of the games I have completed on that ps3 and I was just wondering if anyone knows if it is possible for ps3 support to fix my ps3 without erasing data? Or am i screwed? Please respond i am very nervous! I am sending this ps3 in very soon to be fixed but I need to know if its worth it and if it will save all of my game saves and data and if when I turn it on after being fixed will everything be the same way I left it?
UR NOT SCREWED get a heatgun.. disassemble the ps3 until you get to the motherboard..... get flux pour some drops under the gpu and cpu.. then heatup up the gpu cpu for 30 sec... wait until it cools down (20min to 30min). get arctic silver 5 thermal compound and put it on he cpu and gpu... then reassemble the ps3 back when you first got it.......... dont forget prey before you turn it on..LOL
DIY!
i fixed my original ps3 ( fat 60gb from 2006) and it's been running beautifully for almost a year now all my data was still there, and i jailbroke it afterwards, so now it's even better than my Super Mario Bros- skinned ps3 slim BJ:
nope, ur still ****ed, removing the hard drive wipes it, even if it didnt the ps3 will format a new hard drive as soon as u turn it on, resulting in a empty hard drive
