Lagging while playing games
Freezing up
Turned off incorrectly several times in a row

All these things may screw up your ps3 or just make it slow.
It will also fix your bluray drive if it wont read disks.

1.Hold your power button until your ps3 turns off
2.Hold the power button again until it turns on then off again
3.Hold the power button until you hear 3 beeps, then let go.
4.Connect your controller via USB(Or just connect if you use Power A)
5.Choose option "Rebuild Database", It will then rebuild.
6.Repeat Steps 1 through 4
7.Choose option "Rebuild File Base"
8.Once its done rebuilding, Your PS3 will be much faster and the BluRay drive will work if it wasn't reading disks.
9.Test out a game, like Fallout:New Vegas, which can be VERY laggy if your ps3 is slow.

ok i got a problem i did the first bit right Rebuild Database but when i do step 1 to 4 again to Rebuild File Base is not there all i get is the following

1. restart system
2. restore Default settings
3. restore File System
4. Rebuild Database
5. restore ps3tm system
6. system update

doesent fix a blu ray drive been through this with sony all it does is speed ur ps3 up if the file system is the reason why

this worked very well! thank for this. Before when i would send messages, it would say sending for like 3 seconds but now it doesn't even say sending, its instant. this should be stickied

sweeeet. Ive had my 80GB Phat since the ps3 first came out! Been lagging freezing and busted. I thought it was just cause it was old dusty and gonna die. Imma try this out in a minute. Ill post back results

ok thanks i give this ago im doing this on my slim will that matter??? as i data transfered from my 60gb fat ps3 again with new modz but now i can never get host i lag like crazy online will this help yeah thanks

PS i did get host all the time before with old modz and without modz
