I suppose the 4th of July is the best time to announce this news. This is out of the UK where "a Taiwanese manufacturer has claimed that a PlayStation 4 is on track for release in 2012, and that it will feature "body movement-based control like Kinect".
"The source indicated that manufacturing duties will fall to Foxconn and Pegatron Technology, the company that made the PS3, with a minimum of 20 million units planned to ship in 2012."
I have previously stated that I didn't think we would see a PS4 until at least 2014. This is because when they introduced PS MOVE SONY stated this was supposed to inject 5 more years into the PS3's life span. With this news coming out I hope I was wrong, because as we all know the PS3 came out ahead of it's time from a technology stand point so I'm rather excited to see what they can come up with again. Lets see how reliable this news really is, keep your fingers crossed, with that said Have a happy 4th of July everyone.

God ****en retards!!!! no ps4!! not yet!!! its the new ps3 model!! you dimm whitt and the taiwanesse shit was debunked!! and since when do IGN report on arumors?? never.. no ****en ps3 currenlty iosbeing developed but are in blue print mode!!

But you can't blame SONY for that because there 3rd party titles so the devs are the ones that have to adapt.
Apparently devs hate making games for the ps3 because of it's cell processors.

I agree, I suppose I understand why it's just easier to "PORT" something. But one thing I don't understand is why not "PORT" something from a superior product I would understand Porting from PC to consoles but will never for the life understand porting from XBOX.<----nothing wrong with XBOX I don't want to start a war here just an honest opinion.

Anytime you loose an estimated $167 Million dollars, your going to have to come up with a business strategy to answer to the stock holders at this point it's anyone's guess what this is but I wouldn't count anything out from SONY right now.

I don't think we need a new PS system. PS3 has the best tech right now with 3D and Blue Ray. They should just update the system.
