No you don't cause your ranks get saved to the servers and also sorry for YLOD. I got it like 2 times and it sucked . I could only return it the first time but my warrenty ran out for the 2nd!!!

Mine got YLOD at the very wrong time. It was a few DAYS out of warranty and it was when i was studying for my exams this year. So my Dad payed the 150 for me, but hid the ps3 for almost 2 months, telling me that it hadnt come in the post yet. I found it hidden in the drawer in the new sofa (ar first i didnt even know there was a drawer) the day before he was going to give it to me.
But yeah you can either pay $150 or use the method of opening up and fixing it, by fraz422 in the ps3 exploits and hacks section as whitey said. Or if its still in warranty you can call Sony and get a new one for free.
