Post: PlayStation Network offline for 12 hours tonight

The PlayStation Network will undergo routine maintenance later today (January 19).
Sony has confirmed that the network will go down between around 4pm and 5pm GMT (8am and 9am PST).
It will then resume service at 5am GMT on January 20 (9pm PST on January 19), lasting a total of 12 hours.
Users will not be able to access the PlayStation Store, account functions including management and registration, PlayStation Home or the network's Music Unlimited and Video Unlimited services during the maintenance period.
"Users who are already signed into their account on PlayStation Network before the start of the maintenance should be able to stay signed in to their online session, but will not be able to access any of the services [taken offline]," said communications chief Patrick Seybold.
"Users who attempt to sign in to their PlayStation Network account after the start of the maintenance may be presented with the site maintenance notification page if they haven't signed in recently."

You'll still be able to data transfer. They won't disable the Data Transfer Utility. If they do, they will loose a bunch of customers due to the fact that a lot of people buy a new PS3 and data transfer their data to the new one.
