Post: PS4 Screen Names

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I was wondering this because of the recent rumors circulating about the next generation systems and i was wondering if anybody thinks or knows if they plan on transferring over PSN screennames or XBL gamertags?
Personally without knowing much about this I would take a pretty good guess and say there going to transfer over because it seems like too big of a hassle to set up a whole new ID system and i think many people would be mad but starting over would seem kind of fun!

I would stop console gaming and start saving for a better PC to get ready for college and play games on.

I would buy a ps4 day one and drive home at the speed of light to get some good ones bet all the 3 letters are going to be gone in a matter of an hour.

I'm pretty sure they will. A lot of gamers have invested time into earning their trophies and what not,
and the public response to them not transferring ID's and Gamertags would not be pretty.

That wouldn't make a lot of sense for the network to start over. Think of backwards compatible consoles that will surely come out. It would be a total pain in the ass to have to start over on EVERYTHING. I think they will be playing on the same (but upgraded) network. PSN ID's will not be reset.

That's what I am hoping, but I will be looking at whether or not they will support group chat. If they don't, then I will be moving over to Xbox considering I like to talk to in groups playing whatever game rather than having to go play the same game, lose chat connection during loading and such..
PS3's largest fail.

Agreed. I'll be getting the 720 ( :carling: ) if group chat isn't supported. RAM should NOT be an issue in a gaming console.

With the new name change to PSN, SEN, and how Sony's account system has been transferring to each of the new Playstation consoles (since the PSP & PS3, up until the Vita), I would highly doubt that there would be a new screen name distribution with the PS4. If you check on Qriocity, the screen names associated with your new account are concrete, and will likely remain that way for all future Playstation consoles.

Thats actually a good point. It would make more sense to reuse the same information and just create another device on your account. Be easier on us and cheaper for Sony. Win Win.
