(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); On Friday, I got the YLOD on my jailbroken PS3 ( WHYYYYYYY ) and I immediately did the YLOD fix on it. After I completed the fix, I noticed that my PS3 would only work for about 5mnutes, then it gives me that overheat message on PSN and soon after, it shuts off PS3 entirely.

Now today, I just got the thermal paste and applied it correctly thinking that would solve my problem, but it didn't.

So right now, I noticed after going through all options that it's the fan thats making the problem.

I have an Intercooler for my PS3 (The thing that attaches to the back) but it doesn't come on when I attach it.

Does anyone know what I can do to get my fan to start working? I'm thinking it has something to do with those 3 skinny chords that are connected to the motherboard or simply the thermal paste I added (dont see how thats the problem).

If the fan is broken, do i justt buy another 1 from somewhere and simply swap them out?

There have been issue with fans blowing to much and shorting out all together. It happens in about .5% ps3's. Usually just replacing the fan will fix the issue. But I would not do anything until you got that fixed; like running fan's on it or through it just to be able to play. You will just burn out your boared and there is no amount of solder, flux, or thermal paste that will fix it then.

Sometimes the actual board will send to much power to the fan when it is told to kick on. This can be attributed to the motherboard. I would have it looked at by a professional and just fork out the 100$ in parts and service.

Hope this helps.

I'm sure as the PS3 would not display the YLOD without being plugged in.
