(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hello,
i'm planning to change my ps3 hdd (320) with a new ssd(256).

I have one of those docking stations to dupe (raw copy - CLONE) drives, AND programs like Acronis.trueimage that basically raw copy (byte per byte) and clone disks.

Is it possible to clone my OLD hdd to the new SSD in these ways to avoid the long and incomplete (locked contents) backup-restore procedure?

Thanks

Nope it is not possible, or people would be selling HDD's with patches and "hacks" pre-installed Smile

No Josh what you say is impossible because you'll be installing the drive in a different system (PS3).
What i say is to dupe my old hdd on a new hdd and put it in the same system, so all the info are carried over.
I know that this procedure works but i've heard of problems with disk size because cloning... means cloning everything, also the filesystem info.
eg: cloning an old 60gb on a new 500gb will end up with the ps3 "seeing" a new big 500gb but reports the free space of the old drive, like if we did a 60gb partition on the 500gb drive.
The problem is to resize the partition of the new disk, but the fileformat is sony proprietary,
so i would like to know if there is actually any working method to do this

Thanks

thanks josh, that program anyway resizes ntfs or fat32 partitions, while we are trying to work on a ps3 partition.
here i found a similar thread You must login or register to view this content.
but of course they don't have answers, while i'm sure here at NGu somebody knows
