The feature will be added in Firmware update 3.10, we were told.

I don't believe rumors... Especially from a website that looks like it was designed by a kindergartener. Guess we'll have to wait & see. Though I think kaz hirai would of announced it at the sony conference @ TGS.

So basically, you like can chat while in a game? like xbox? so if your cheating (which loads of people will) you can communicate through different system which will be able to speak on what ever game they're on^

Finally, but they made it so I cant play music and use the XMB or internet at the sametime which makes me angry because im one of the people that enjoyed this feature.

Cross chat is where you can speak to people on different games; over the microphone.
My Oppinion:

ABOUT TIME!!!! serisouly now we have even more to have against xbox, we got better graphics, cross chat now! blue ray wireless built in, the list could go on for ages. but i am so glad sony finally ddecided to do this! YAY
