Took 5 weeks, 3 in Boston, 2 here, very simple hardware cleverly applied, and some not so simple software.
Shout out to George Kharrat from iPhoneMod Brasil for giving me this PS3 a year and a half ago to hack. Sorry it took me so long
As far as the exploit goes, I'm not revealing it yet. The theory isn't really patchable, but they can make implementations much harder. Also, for obvious reasons I can't post dumps. I'm hoping to find the decryption keys and post them, but they may be embedded in hardware. Hopefully keys are setup like the iPhone's KBAG.

i got a email about this in the morning and i honestly am really stoked to see the hack
if its anything like the iphone jailbreak i am expecting to see things like launching voice chat from the xmb and possibly software to run 360 games
lets all hope for ps360 lol

really? i dont think so... its just software, and the ps3 can read hddvd with no problem. as far as hardware goes the ps3 can run laps around a 360
i doubt we could do a connection to xbl but who really cares about that

thats like asking a hacked psp to connect to nintendo ds. it might be possible but it would be easily patchable
