Without Paid DLC, but free DLC on store installed

save doesnt work

hopefully someone can help me as I have been pulling my hair out over this. I have spent 2 days attempting to get the trophy "BIG FAT PARTY ANIMAL" I have tried but any save I am using gives an error messages regarding an additional content upgrade. I have the following dlcs installed

Judge, jury, executioner
faster baby faster
stones unturned
sign of the times

I still receive this message an its annoying the shit out of me.

I have tried the following to get the trophy but still no luck-

uninstalling/ reinstalling game and all dlc
deleting save files
4 fresh runs to the earliest point of starting the dlc
check for updates
gaining the gun from vito/ arms dealer
gaining the gun from the dlc island
killing cops (approx 300)
killing goons (approx 150)
I have ran the game using my own saves too hence the 4 restarts

its my last damn trophy of the game and its killing me.

if anyone can offer any tips for this I will be so damn grateful or if anyone has any save that doesn't include any dlc pack aside from the story related dlcs that would be awesome. im sick to death of getting the damn nuke but if I only have to run it one more time it will be worth it.

Will try to give what advice I can but time is also limited today.

What exact error message are you getting?

Pluwaka mentions needing "free DLC on store installed." You mention Judge Jury Executioner, but you don't mention the My2k Entitlement Bonus. That's also a free DLC and while it's not from the store, some of the content from that pack might be in this save. Basically, to get it, you need to link your copy of Mafia III to your My2k Account (create one if you don't have one already, then immediately edit the privacy settings if you care about that sort of thing).

Also, while this is technically paid DLC, a lot of people forget about the Family Kick-Back Pack. It's on the Store NOW, but wasn't for a long time, because it came with pre-orders only. If Pluwaka had a pre-order copy, might've slipped the mind. That sort of issue has arisen before. But before paying for more DLC, I'd exhaust all other option (unless you have the Deluxe Edition in which case you should already have access to this for free).

Putting ALL of that side, if you do have the 7.62mm and the Party Animal outfit, then my guess is this isn't a DLC issue. Double-check you're wearing the Party Animal Outfit while going for this. The only reason I'm mentioning that is because you're talking about going for it while going for the nuke, but I'm pretty sure your outfit is set during most of that and can't be changed so you wouldn't be able to get it then anyway. You can ONLY rack up kills for this trophy while wearing the Party Animal Outfit, which (I could be wrong) is only unlocked AFTER completing the DLC.

Another possibility is that the profile save you're using is already over the 50 kill counter for this.

So here's my recommendation. Get yourself in a place where you have both the 7.62mm equipped and you're wearing the Party Animal Outfit. Drive to Pastor Jerome's church and save there. Then, in case it is an issue with the profile (back it up first if you will need it after - sounds like you won't if this is your last trophy) delete your profile save so you're starting fresh at 0 kills for sure. Then drive to the police station in that same district (French Ward? whichever district Pastor Jerome's church is in). If you don't know where the station is, I'm sure you can find a video if you look up guides for pretty much any kill-related trophy because that's a famous farming spot.

When you get there, draw your 7.62mm BUT MAKE SURE THEY GO HOSTILE before you start shooting. If you start shooting before they go all Darryl Gates on you, then they won't count as "enemies". Gun down everyone in there and everyone who responds, but make sure eventually you let a couple of cops kill you. Dying auto-saves and so will save your kill count. You can get 20 or more right there, then respawn at the Church which is like 2 or 3 blocks away. Rinse and repeat. Should take 2 or 3 runs max. Way, way, faster than going through the DLC (plus I really don't remember being able to change outfits while going through the island part of the DLC).

I haven't yet linked my account so I will definitely try that too. thank you so much and if your advice does work with regards to the profile save then I sir salute you. Yeah the only good aspect of the dlc is the weapon pick up which saves going through all the districts if you just wanna knock out the dlc at the earliest opportunity. honestly ive ran that dlc about 12 times...sick of seeing that fucking plane and saving paez or pedro or whatever the hell his name is. im gonna try a save but do what you suggest with the profile save. if that is true then it should pop but ill add a comment on here later incase any else is having issues

EDIT 1: also the message that displays is "the latest additional content requires the latest update" im assuming its to do with the save itself as my version is the latest digital version 1.09

EDIT 2: Yeah I've tried the suggestion from before regarding the profile save but still no luck.

I will attempt it tomorrow with a fresh installation of the game all offline. If that doesn't work then i will have to hope but highly unlikely they bring another patch out in the future as the 98% will annoy me to the point I make a new damn profile

For the message, that's an odd one. 1.09 is the latest as far as I know. I also highly, highly doubt there will be another one. Both 2K and Hanger 13 have moved on - after Mafia 3 didn't live up to the amount of investment put into it there were massive layoffs at Hanger 13 and while it's not quite "support studio" status, and is supposedly working on a new IP, it's only project since Mafia 3 with its skeleton staff has been the Ultra HD pack that was recently added to Borderlands: The Handsome Collection. It MIGHT be related to the My2k exclusive content but it doesn't sound like it.

I'm really stumped on this one. If you're using a fresh profile save, then making sure you're actually wearing the Party Animal Outfit, have the Hartman 7.62mm equipped, and getting 50 enemy kills (not 50 kills, again, give the cops time to actually start shooting at you, this is usually the problem people run into when farming kill trophies in this game), then I can't think of any other reason why it would not pop.

You cannot get it within the DLC itself since you don't have the outfit until the DLC is done but it sounds like I just misunderstood you before.

I can tell you how and when I got it but you might be past this point already - but maybe the saves in this set are not (but would mean you'd have to run through the boring DLC again). I also don't have my saves anymore. I was doing a bounty mission, one where a dude is being threatened by 2 mobsters and you have to take care of the 2 mobsters then capture the dude, so I made sure I was wearing the Party Animal clothes, had my Hartman 7.62 equipped, gunned down the 2 mobsters and cops show up. Bounty starts running but that's okay. I just kept killing until they killed me, again making sure the cops were pretty angry at me first so they'd count as enemies. The checkpoint reload would put me right back at the point where I was just outside the alleyway where the bounty was. I too was on patch 1.09.

Otherwise, I'd recommend looking for save sets elsewhere on the forums. You might find one where you can get the Hartman 7.62 from Vito so you don't need to get it from the DLC, and there might be a way for your outfit to carry over or even if it doesn't, there might be something in this save preventing you from getting this trophy where if you did it with another save on here the same problem would not occur (same for a speedrun which, speaking from experience, does not take as long as you would think - maybe a day and a half to get your 9 districts and DLC which yes sucks for just 1 trophy). I haven't put thought into how to best make this work - apologies, wife's family is here this weekend.
