If there are no Quick Mode cheats for a save, then there's no Advanced Mode either which means no re-regioning. Profile saves usually fall into that category. I don't think you'd be able to re-region the Yakuza 3 profile. But at least a couple of the Yakuza games have been multi-regional. I don't know whether 3, 4 or 5 are. You might try the save on your PS4 without re-regioning and see if your PS4 recognizes it.
unfortunately, it's not he same ID. None of the Japanese ones are the same as far as I know
As far as I'm aware, in some of the Yakuza titles that are cross-regional, the regions have different (listed) CUSA numbers. For instance to use Kiwami 2 numbers, 10634 and 10706 being compatible with each other. It could be that the listed CUSAs are incorrect and the game is making just 10634 saves in both US and EU (that happens sometimes). I had hoped it was similar with JP too.
i might be confused with what you're saying but how do you get around it if there are two different Game IDs? All I know is that if i straight copy it from USB, game won't even recognize it's there (i deleted my original profile just in case as well)
If that's the case then it won't work. In the multi-regional titles, you would not have had an issue like that at all. You only would have needed to resign.
The multi-regional titles I've heard of have come in 2 different kinds: In one type, there is one CUSA that is used in different parts of the globe, but maybe not every part. So whether you have a US copy, EU copy, or from some other region, chances are very good that it doesn't matter because there is one extremely common CUSA. That doesn't mean that there is not another CUSA, though, especially since in some of those titles (like Death Standing), there are actually other CUSAs registered for the game. It's just that everyone seems to get the common one instead.
In the second type - and please be aware I know less about this type and there's a good chance I'm wrong here - a game might be multi-regional because different regions use different CUSAs and yet a save from one CUSA will load up on a game from the other region that would normally use the other CUSA save. Like the Kiwami 2 example I gave above, or someone reported Yakuza 4 the other day so I assume Yakuza 3 and 5 as well. But here is a big caveat: It could be that this is all just the first type after all. These games have different CUSA regions listed for them, and people often list different CUSA codes on their threads before it's reported that they also work with certain other CUSAs too. But I have not tested to see if it works they way I've heard it reported, which would be that your own save is one CUSA and yet a different CUSA works on your game.
In any event, to the extent Yakuza 3 is multi-regional, it sounds like it is not multi-regional with JP. If you attempt to re-region it at all, I'd be aware that the Yakuza games have been notoriously difficult/impossible to re-region. I don't think that would change with 3, but I could be wrong.

figured it out had rename the zip to game CUSA
Odd, but thanks for reporting back. In my personal experience the name of the ZIP file doesn't matter, but the name of the folder inside matters very much and needs to be the game CUSA. Wonder what happened here.
