Post: Just me?

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hey there, ive been thinking of this for a while now, i dont really think that the hardware in the new PS4 will be that great considering the specs ive read on the internet, i mean they will be better then the PS3 but what im hoping is that once the PS4 is released after a year or 2 they release another PS4 like they usually release a smaller more efficient version of the console, what im hoping is that instead of making the console smaller, they make it "better."

What i mean by better is that they "upgrade" the parts, seeing as they're turning the PS4 into a type of PC with the parts, I reckon they should update the PS4 in order for game developers can enhance the games they make even more with better graphics. Now im not a graphics driven gamer, i prefer gameplay over graphics for a game any day, but i wouldnt mind them upgrading the parts if they end up selling an "improved" version of the PS4 because they inevitably will most likely will & sticking with the whole PS4 is like a PC situation, they could upgrade the parts (GPU & CPU etc...) so you're not paying for basically the same PS4 you already have apart from a bit more memory.

What are your thoughts though? Do you agree with me, or are you not too fussed? love to hear what you think. Smile

EDIT: After re-reading what i put, i forgot to mention that this is speculation and not to be taken as literal, what i mean by that is, the idea would be cool, but clearly with all the certain complexities involved in doing this it wouldnt be ideal, never expected this to happen, but some must of thought that i ment it as that it would happen, i thought it would be a cool idea, but nothing else, hope this clears things up. Smile

The hardware is future proof for about 5 year(ish) that's good for a console. People need to remember that it may has hardware like a PC but it isn't suppose to be one. A console with upgrading parts wont happen either, all consoles have to be compatible with one another, not including hard drives.

The big problem that would occur if you were to use changable parts in consoles is that all of a sudden you have a PC, and just as with PC's you will have an incredible ammount of incompability due to different spec's on the hardware.

Thats why I play half of my games on console, because I know that the game will start :P With PC, 1/3 of the time you have faulty OS, 1/3 you will have incompable hardware and the last 1/3 the game will work.

I think it's possible for them to release an upgraded PS4 a few years from now, especially now that the tech is a lot more PC friendly, as they say. They could just make the graphics menu adjustable like the settings for games on PC.

When they release a 'Slim' console they can not improve parts to make them quicker, faster or more capacity (RAM) Due to games and software have to work on any released Console under the PS4 range, not just one model. This would force people to upgrade and would be a bad move by Sony. When they release a Slim its to make parts more efficient and run better.

Maybe not exactly 1/3, but seriously... how many games are working 100% today when you buy them for PC? How many games have day-1 patches just because they rush the game?
Even the spec's that SHOULD work for specific games don't... I have a "hardcore" PC with dualGPU, when Crysis 2 was released (which is from Crytek, that also ofc released Crysis 1, which is known for its awesome graphics that's even used as a benchmark for hardcore PC's) it didn't even have support for Crossfire!! Seriously!? The ONE company that is known to push the PC's limits, and they don't have support for crossfire? It took those lasy bastards 6 MONTHS before they accepted it was their fault and tried to fix it.... the fun thing, it worked perfectly on the demo..
