(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); My friend just showed me this article that states that the PS4 will not have HDCP attatched to it. What that means is all you folks (myself included) that have an elgato, or some other hdmi based cap card, will be able to record it in beautiful HD with an HDMI.

Personally this is a major plus for me. I bought an elgato just in anticipation that they might make this move. What are your thoughts on this?

Highly doubt that since you won't be playing any form of blu ray unless you burn it yourself and even doing that didn't the ps3 have some sort of issues with movies burned on blu ray?. It's a requirement.

Well that doesn't actually mean HDCP won't exist. They just said you could record which can be an entirely different beast. Either way it's nice because now you won't have to rig up a bunch of shit just to record

Listen This is 100% confirmed Shuhei Yoshida even said. But it wont be removed when it first comes out. They have to put out a software update so i am sure they will make it away that you can't record blu-ray movies. Just google Shuhei Yoshida Twitter post.
