Post: Shutdown or Standby? Which do you prefer?

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); As most of you know, the PS4 has the lovely feature of "standby mode" now so that it is essentially powered off but uses just enough so that it can charger your controller, download updates, etc.

I'm just curious how many of you just put it in standby and how many of you shut it down completely?

I personally have been putting it in standby as it's more convenient but if I know I'm going to be away for several days I will probably shut it down.

Shut down it will be for me, I don't trust these things to not overheat or crash.

shut down, ps4 could die out leaving it on.

But technically you're not leaving it on, you're putting it into a low power state just like your computer. But I understand where you're coming from Smile

If I was to get bored of playing a game but I knew I would come back a few hours : half a day later I would put it on stand by.

If I was going out for the more then a day then I would shut it down.

Shut down as stand by uses electricity, I'll only ever put it on stand by if I know I was going to use my vita for remote play

Maggbot timeout!
I prefer shutdown only if I don't have to charge my controller then I'll leave it on standby only if I know I will eventually turn it off 2-3 hours later.
