(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Okay so I was damn excited when I ordered a PS4 on launch day and managed to get one within 5 days (UK), but I'm putting this warning out for you guys to check yours.

Initially the console was perfect, lay it flat and played for hours.

Turned it off and moved it with much care to our main TV an decided it looked better vertical. Problems begin.

It started making a strange noise upon inserting the disc, immediately refusing to read it. It then had problems ejecting and re-inserting the disc. After getting it out, the console would just not let me insert anything into the disc drive (like it still had a disc in).

After ages of trying different things, I managed to get it to take discs again by cutting the power, however it doesn't seem to take them very well, and a gentle push is needed at all times to get it in...
After putting it back horizontal I noticed a small rattle sound from in the disc drive even when empty. Obviously something isn't right there.

After still not reading discs, and in a lot of frustration I may have...gently...shook the console whilst it was failing to read a disc....and it fixed it Smile.

There is still a rattle from the disc drive, like a loose bit of plastic, and it still doesn't read or work vertically, but with a gentle shake it always works when flat.

Yes I was on the latest software etc. I have since rang ShopTo.net where I bought it and they have arranged courier for collection and replacement next day, so very happy with their service, and glad to be getting a brand new one.

Just thought I'd warn people to be cautious when trying your Ps4 vertical, and if it were me I would check that it works this way around now, and get it changed if not.

This is irrelevant to it standing up or laying down. You simply got a faulty system.
