I have just came on my 360 for the first time today and i can sign into XBOX LIVE but when i load up my mw2 it signs me out and i cant sign back in until i go to the dashboard. It tells me to test my connection, so i did and it connects to my router and connects to the internet but when it is test XBOX LIVE it comes up with a RED X. I click on more info when the help box comes up and then it says this:
''Your console can connect to Xbox LIVE, but your router or gateway isn't properly responding to ICMP responces.''
I have tried all i know but none has worked.

I seem to have the same problem, not sure why, I've been messing with my router for the last hour or so and even now have plugged directly into my router (instead of using my built in wireless), I've changed my MTU settings (which were fine in the first place, over 1364) and also checked that port 4701 (or whatever it was, I forget) was open, which it was.. I'm thinking it must be a problem with microsoft... That's why im in this particular forum at the moment actually..

Microsoft servers are down.
There down for most sky interent customers.

Yeah i was using built in wireless but i changed it to a ethernet cable and still no luck. Are you using SKY BROADBAND because all my friends are still working except for me and my friend who have SKY. It may be a problem with SKY. Not sure though

Yep I'm with Sky, and also I'm in West Yorkshire if that makes a difference, it must be sky then...

Yeah i'm from Liverpool and i'm using SKY broadband. The guy above said that the server will be up in about 3 hours but it is down for mostly sky users

Reset your router.

Foward ports.

Get a better router, that looks like the problem.

I have tried to re-set my router but still no luck and i don't know how to forward ports. If you could tell me that would be great. Also, my router has been fine in the past and i hardly ever get slow speed and a guy said to me that the microsoft server is down for mostly SKY users so that will probably be why i am not working

I'll try again then and see if it works... I have turned my xbox off because i got pissed off with it not working

Nope its still not working and with sky we just get a router that is connected to the phone line without a modem so i cant do the suggested things to fix it ? :s
