Post: E3 Sucked & Microsoft Were Even Worse

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Okay, so I'd find it hard to believe that the majority of you weren't completely disappointed by this year's E3 like myself, for multiple reasons.

First and foremost, there were no real shocks. Everything was already leaked a few days earlier and even then things like Halo 4 were hardly surprising given Microsoft's lust for money. Then were was Sony, who really were as dull as dull can be. Then Nintendo managed to bore us even after announcing a new console- how? They paraded around the stage with a f*cking stupid controller, and they just talked about it the whole time. Gameplay was at a minimum, and even then they used gameplay from the PS3, 360 or PC. And OMG the name, Wii U? Really? A 6YO with a crayon could have done better!

I'm going to try now to remain calm, because surely Microsoft aren't going to give us a 90-minute Kinect commercial for the second(third?) year running..? WRONG!

Now, here's what really frustrated me about MS' E3 conference. They are trying to sell a product that will not appeal to the hardcore gamer, and they should know that, so why the f*ck are they advertising it like this at E3 which is watched primarily if not entirely by hardcore/core gamers? They should be advertising the fad-of-a-peripheral on TV in ads and on shows like Loose Women and other shows of the like, where they can capture the audience of parents who need a Christmas present for their kid, not hardcore gamers at E3. Maybe parents will enjoy watching 2 kids pretend to go to Disneyland and have a great time, but we will not. And maybe had MS STFU about the Kinect just for 5 minutes this year their conference wouldn't have been such a huge failure, but alas they failed to do so and the conference was a failure, an overwhelming one.

At the end of the day the best conferences were undoubtedly by EA & Ubisoft, which is funny considering Ubisoft only have 1(2?) good IP(s) and EA blatantly lied at the start of their conference as they took a jab at Microsoft for parading celebrities around the stage.

My anger at this year's E3 knows no bounds and I could have gone on for a lot longer(MW3 would have been next :smhSmile, but I don't want too many tl;dr replies lol :p

Comment below your opinion on E3, and whether you agree that Microsoft are approaching advertising the Kinect all wrong.

Many of your statements wrong. That is how E3 is, and who knows how long it will be that way, but that is why there are many other gaming events that are open to the public.

And like I said, it wasn't Microsoft's best E3, but it wasn't terrible. I agree with you that some of the kinect demonstrations were ridiculous, but overall it was much better than their other 2 big competitors. And your entire paragraph saying "we don't care" and "we don't care" and "we don't care", etc., who is "we", you can only speak for yourself. The Disney game is ONE game, they have several more Kinect Compatible games coming out that were demonstrated that in my opinion (which we are all entitled to have) were very interesting and innovative. And they are trying to appeal to all audiences, which is great for the people and profits, offering a huge variety. I don't even have a Kinect at the moment, so I can't be a Kinect fanboy, and I can't be an "Xbox Fanboy" because I am not radical over many things, which includes gaming systems. I don't really care too much considering all these companies just want our money and to profit off of us. I owned a PS2 before on top of it and nearly bought a PS3, but the 360 was the way to go and has proven much better in so many ways compared to the 360 in my opinion, many critics opinions, and can even be seen in the huge number of 360's sold compared to the Wii and PS3. Plus, not all fo their demonstrations were all about the Kinect. Many of the other games they showed were very amazing! I'm not even a Forza fan, but wow, the graphics for the game like BF3 are insane!

And about the Kinect being better on the PC, Microsoft announced not too long ago that the Kinect is going to be used on the new Windows Operating System.

Okay, you didn't explain why anything I said was wrong besides the part where I went a little OTT on my opinion... i.e., we don't care. By we, I mean every single gamer I know personally as well as those I listen to/watch on YouTube. Every single person I talk to or listen to or whatever, they always say the same thing. "STFU Microsoft, and stop forcing Kinect down our throats". It was the same with every game they displayed, they forced Kinect into it somehow. And again about that f*cking Disney game; this is E3, advertise that stupid thing on Oprah or something! Grrr... >:(

I think your jumping the gun here. Microsoft has been known the last couple years too surprise people with unannouced titles and content.

I don't care, because whatever they surprise us with will almost certainly have Kinect involved somehow, regardless of how well or how poorly it fits in with the game design. That's why the stupid thing is being developed for just about every 360 game atm, Microsoft are paying the publishers to force the developers to integrate it somehow resulting in us seeing compatibility everywhere and in Microsoft's ideal scenario we'll then go out and buy it.

I did explain, but like I said before everyone is entitled to their opinion, and I can already tell you are very closed-minded/stubborn so I will only add a couple of things. Every single person you know/watch must only have a PS3 or be a PS3 fanboy, don't listen to only one side, otherwise your not getting to hear both sides, and are only going to get a biased opinion. Also, the Disney game is a GAME, E3 is a show for GAMES and other electronics, thus Microsoft has every right to show many of their creations, including the Disney game. It is called appealing to all audiences, if you only appeal to a small crowd and only focus on that your company is not going to do as good as one that appeals to many! PS3 is appealing to younger audiences, like Microsoft, right You must login or register to view this content., with a really terrible looking copy of Kinectimals. If you don't like the media directed towards other groups other than your own then don't pay attention to it, or don't rant about it. Not every little thing is going to appeal to everyone. Would I want Kinectimals or the Disney game, no, but would my cousin who is a toddler be amazed by it, yes.

And as far as the other games go for Microsoft, many things to be excited about with great demonstrations. With Sony, the only thing that I was excited about seeing was Twisted Metal, a huge favorite of mine on the old PS systems I used to have. But when I saw the remake of it, they destroyed everything nice about it, and it doesn't even have looks that qualify for the PS2, imo.

In all fairness, Sony were hardly great either. They could have done with a surprise or two.

Oh and why do companies have such a tough time coming up w/ good console/peripheral names? Wii, Kinect, Vita, Wii U etc etc etc, they're all horrendous Eek

microsoft paitented/claimed most of the names future consols/handhelds could have (all they could think of) so you got a choice, use microsofts names and pay a hefty fee or make a shit name

so there left with a small pool of names then they do years of reserch over the respone to the name for example Vita it sounds mature exotic ect its aimed at maturing gamers (14+) then the wii.... obviously an attemp of some humor attempting to be fun and joyful aimed at party folk and pre teens
