I only need it for games just playing online and that and any help would be appreciated. I alredy own a ps3 as well so this is just for light playing not abuse like i do on my ps3.

i bought a slim on ebay for 178 and a 250gb hdd for 35 so i got a steal if you shop around you can get good deals on ebay always get it new though, just for one main reason you do not know how the previous owner ran the system. i choose the slim over the other kinds due to the fact it is suppose to be rrod prone and it has a wireless adapter built in instead of spending another 100 on a seperate adapter. also the slims are suppose to run faster and can put out 1080p resolution compared to the elites 720. they also are alot better insulated and that is what makes them prone to rrod. i wouldn't even think about any other type of xbox the slim is the way to go.

That's the biggest load of bollocks I've ever read, all xboxes have had the function of transmitting through Hd either via hdmi or component, even my gen 2 arcade version which is the hdmi version transmits in 1080 p and I. God knows where you got that info from

The elite and the new slim are literally identical and side my side there isn't masses of size saving except the hd is internal an the new slim has a built in wireless system other than that there equally as prone to rrod the elite was supposed to of have the rrod problem designed out of it

The Xbox is a good console but again if you have a need for it is a different matter when you have a ps3 except for exclusive like gears or halo there's very little between them everyone has there favourite, mine is my Xbox but all my friends have a ps3 so I'm on that most of the time.


The other thing recently imo I have found that Xbox seams to hit the younger audience and the ps3 the more upmarket older gamer lol - ill get flamed for that lol

you are honestly a ps3 fanboy most early xbox consoles dont have hdmi, most elites only have 720 derp read more i got my info on multiple sites when shopping around like xbox.com and consolereviews.com and more my point is the slim is better.

lol fanboy yeah whatever the only xbox it to have a hdmi as standard was the original core system but it still out putted in 1080 via component. If you look at my ps3 and Xbox achievements you will see I play my Xbox alot more and I'm stating what I have and know to be true

I have the 4GB Slim with a 250GB HDD, I have issues with freezing, etc so I recommend that if you are to buy a Slim console, that you also buy a fan.
