In a video discussion at GTTV, Pachter gave out his bold prediction/ opinion/ analysis:

You can't hook a guy into Xbox Live Gold if he's playing on a PC... that's the other problem - you really want to hook every gamer who has a 360, you want them to buy all their games on 360, play everything multiplayer, pay your 50 bucks a year so that, in a couple of years, it's a 100 bucks a year. And that's going up, we all know that.. it's a profit deal.

Will you be signing up still if it does balloon to a hundred bucks?

To be honest, I wouldnt mind paying $100 a year if you actually benefit in some way such as better service in connectivity, matchmaking etc. If none of those are offered I guess I'd stick with my PS3. Ive owned several 360's but the damn things keep breaking.(DAMN YOU MICROSOFT!!!!)

i would still pay 100 its worth it to me not to lag and not have everyone else lag...if ps would just start charging for online maybe more people would buy it and not stick to 360's for their online but until that happens 360 FTW!!!

I will admit Xbox live is great and I am a PS3 guy. That is kind of ridiculous though... Oh, and if PS3 gets a fee then I'm moving to PC. That's why people buy ps3's mainly.

On topic, I would no way pay 100 a year to play online. Only the rich kids would and the people that can't do without online gaming. That would be the most ridiculous thing EVER if they made you pay that much. I no I certainly wouldn't.

The only reason I play xbox is for Xbox Live, but at that price I wouldnt buy Xbox Live. Soooooo... My Xbox would probably collect Dust. You can only play the campaign of a game so many times before you feel like ripping your eyes out.

Yeah I'd probably go PC too. $50 is okay, but 100$ would be ridiculous.
