I went to Gamestop just looking around today 11/14/09 and I told the guy that I bought MW2 and that my MW2 was freezing at 1:30 am, so I let my Xbox rest for the night thinking it would be fine in the morning, but it wasn't. It kept freezing and finally I got the 3 red rings.

He said the soder in the Xbox melts and screws up the motherboard. He also said that Microsoft knew this was going to be a problem(modern warfare 2 overheating and melting). They have tried to fix it, but they could not get it to.

Gamestop had a brand new Xbox 360 Elite right out of the box get the 3 red rings from MW2.

I recommend not playing it for more than maybe 8 hours or you may have this problem.

DO NOT TRY TO FIX THIS YOURSELF IT IS IMPOSSIBLE! DO NOT TAKE IT APART IT COULD ERASE YOUR WARRANTY FOREVER!

well your 1st mistake is actually believeing someone form gamestop b/c no one there knows anything about a video game console or video games other then what the company tells them so they can sell the game...an as for your system getting red ring from MW2 unlikely its that you play it so much nethier the ps3 or the 360 are meant to be played all day long everyday

My xbox was left on "accidently" when i went on holiday.

I was playing gears of war and it didnt turn off so it stayed on XD

but nothing happend.

Get a ps3 yes? had mine for 2years and it works fine..

This is why i switched to ps3; xbox is unreliable. Almost all my friends have gotten RROD. thats ridiculous.
