Pokémon Go Plus Release Date Officially Delayed

Some slightly bad news from Niantic announced today as they confirmed that the release date of the Pokémon Go Plus has been delayed.

With only days to go before the intended release date of the Pokémon Go Plus, Nintendo has officially announced that the wearable-technology has been delayed until September.

Pokémon Go Plus was originally set for a reveal in the later days of July, but Nintendo confirmed via their {url=https://twitter.com/NintendoAmerica}Twitter feed that the product would be available instead in September.

If you're unfamiliar with the Pokémon Go Plus, it's basically an advanced wristband that connects via Bluetooth to your iOS or Android device. When synced to your Pokémon Go account, the "Plus" provides a convenient solution to playing the game without having your phone open.

The features included and available when using the Pokémon Go Plus include:

{ul}{li}Notifies you, via vibration and flashing lights, when a Pokémon or PokéStop is in the area, the same distance as with your phone app.{/li}
{li}Capture Pokémon that have previously not been captured with the push of a button.{/li}
{li}Collect Poké Balls, Berries, Eggs, Potions, and other items at any PokéStop locations by using the same button.{/li}{/ul}

Even with the basic features included, a likely reason for the Pokémon Go Plus delay is the soaring popularity of the mobile-app along with the relatively low price of $34.99 in comparison to other game accessories. {url=https://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-Pokemon-Plus-Not-Machine-Specific/dp/B01H482N6E/}Amazon had a brief moment where the company was accepting pre-orders for the device, although it didn't last long as pre-orders flew off the shelves.

I'll update this article if a new pre-order destination is made available. The Pokémon Go Plus will more than likely be a hot item for some time.
