Legendary Pokemon Appears at Ohio Gym

A Pokémon Go player in Dayton, Ohio appears to be the first to obtain one of the three legendary birds available in the Kanto region of Pokemon.

It seems that the first legendary Pokémon has been captured, sort of. Player Kaitlyn Covey of Springboro, Ohio supplied the picture below to a {url=https://www.facebook.com/groups/2070570036500440/}Dayton-area Facebook page which showed her holding one of the local gyms with one of the three legendary birds set to be available on Pokémon Go, Articuno.

The player left a short comment on the Facebook post saying:

{quote}#Niantic gifted me with him. It is simply the truth!{/quote}

Video can also be seen on YouTube showing the legendary bird holding the gym, so it certainly is not an elaborate Photoshop, although that does not mean it's necessarily real.

Many are speculating that the encounter with the legendary bird could be either a hack or a glitch. Earlier this month, many players encountered a glitch when capturing Pokémon in which would produce a different result when captured. Others are wondering if the user altered the appearance of one of their Pokémon through a client-side hack to look like an Articuno.

Whether the player is telling the truth about how they obtained the Pokémon or not remeains to be seen. Check out more on the aforementioned {url=https://www.facebook.com/groups/2070570036500440/}Dayton Pokémon Group.
