Step 1. Update to the 3.1.3 firmware if needed.
Step 2. Download Spirit.
Step 3. Plug in iPod.
Step 4. Double click spirit.
Step 5. Press jailbreak.
If you get this error code!!

1. Right Click on Spirit
2. Click properties

3. Click Compatibility

4. Run this program in compatibility mode CHOOSE windows 95

Now since you fixed that just press jailbreak agin.

Okay if I have 3.0 Wouldn't I just download the firmware, back up my iPod then select it and install it then basically just use that program to jailbreak and thats it?

But what is better about 3.1.3 than 3.0, like whats different?

Also isn't iOS4 what is going to be on the new iPhone 4 with all that cool shit? Too bad the iTouch wont be able to use half of that. :cry:

Apple is going to release iOS4 for the iPod touch and older iphones a couple days before iPhone 4 launches!!

and 3.1.3 is newer so you can use more apps and it makes battery life better!

Okay thanks I guess Ill give it a go when I have some time, I got my 2G last year for my birthday and well all I really ever used it for was music and like 5-10 apps, never really got into it even though I registered at the ipod touch fans forum's before I even had one as I thought they were awesome. So yeah I am sorta out of the loop of everything that has been done with the iPod. I did jailbreak it like two days after I got it but that was like on 2.1.
