Step 1. Update to the 3.1.3 firmware if needed.
Step 2. Download Spirit.
Step 3. Plug in iPod.
Step 4. Double click spirit.
Step 5. Press jailbreak.

1. Right Click on Spirit
2. Click properties

4. Run this program in compatibility mode CHOOSE windows 95

Yea i should start charging people when i hack the ipods and iphones... im lucky i have att because everytime i jailbreak somones iphone i can just pop my sim card in it till i give it back to them.

Here's an update and a warning guys:
Do NOT try to jailbreak using Spirit if you've downloaded the new iTunes 9.2 software onto your computer. So if you're iPod is not jailbroken yet, and you have 9.2 on your computer, do NOT attempt to use Spirit. It will cause your iPod to go into an infinite boot-up sequence.

If you're iPod is already jailbroken with Spirit, there shouldn't be any problems should you update to 9.2, but just to be on the safe side, you shouldn't update to 9.2.

That's because when a new firmware update come's on, you need to update to the new firmware and jailbreak it with another method. Spirit was a great success, it was the second jailbreak via web since firmware 1.1.2. But now its outdated... :/

Don't be too fast to call stuff outdated. it is used by most 3.1.3 jailbreaks on an MC model iPod touch=3g

There was a huge firmware jump from 3.1.3 to 4.0 it's outdated. You can still use it but it's outdated, there's a newer and better firmware.

Yes but the people who actually want to have a jai;lkbroken 3g use spirit because your jailbreak tut iis not compatible.
